Ice Fisheree

51st Annual Fin ‘N’ Feather Ice Fisheree

The 51st annual fisheree will once again be held on the club grounds on Saturday, February 18th, 2012.  For anyone unfamiliar with our club it is at N2765 Hardscrabble Rd, Palmyra Wisconsin  53156.  Fishing starts at 5:00 am, registration opens at 9 am and closes at 2:00 pm. Fish from any area lakes are eligible and prizes will be awarded for the heaviest fish in each of the following six species:  Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Northern, Perch and Walleye.  Ten additional prizes will be awarded via a drawing from tickets representing one fish from each species that each fisherman registers.

To be eligible to register fish each fisherman needs to purchase 6 Cash Raffle tickets for $5.  One child 17 and under is free with each single adult registration.  Every child 15 and under will receive a prize for their first fish.  Each registered fish must be fresh and of legal size.  Judges decisions are final.  Officials from Fin “N” Feather will be on our lake to distribute voucher tickets for fisherman wishing to register for a species and practice catch and release of fish not in contention for the heaviest of that species.  A shuttle will run between the club house and our lake during the hours of fish registration.  Some holes on our lake will be pre-drilled and signed with sponsor’s names.  These donations helped build the prize pool for fisherman.

If you are not interested in sitting out on the ice, come spend your time warm and dry in the club house enjoying our ample food, beverages and camaraderie.  Of course there will be plenty of raffles of meat, tools and various other prizes.  The big raffle is the cash raffle and this year the prizes will be $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, $150 for 3rd place and $50 each for 4th & 5th place.    Drawings for the Cash Raffle will begin at 4:00 pm.

New this year, a significant portion of the raffle proceeds will go to build a Fisher House home on the Milwaukee Veterans Center Medical Complex.  For those unfamiliar with the Fisher House charity, they currently have 54 homes near major veteran’s medical centers or hospitals where veterans and/or their families can stay for free while they are receiving medical help.  The Milwaukee VA is yet to have such a home but is in dire need of one since over 600,000 vets from 23 states visit Milwaukee each year for medical help.  With that demand the Fisher House of Wisconsin is close to breaking ground on one of the largest Fisher House homes in the United Stated and is expected to help over 1,000 families a year at a time when they really need it.
