Welcome to the Fin and Feather Sportsman Club web site
The witches and spooks have flown south, the goblins and zombies have gone back into hibernation and all the brass is picked up from the Haunted Woods and Rifle Sight In. The annual fall events have all come to a close and the winter events are coming fast.
Next on our schedule is the Winter Trap League which starts on Saturday, January 14th and continues for each Saturday of the next weeks for eight weeks total. This is an individual’s league and you can shoot your eight 25 bird rounds whenever you choose; on one, some or each of these 8 Saturdays. The cost is $5 a round or $40 total for the season. Of course the clubhouse is open all day to allow you a place to warm up and even have a beverage or two should the cold have made you thirsty.
We are less than a month away from Ice Fishing Season. Our Fisheree will be on Saturday, February 18th this coming year of 2012. Through corporate sponsors we will have 16 great prizes; 6 for the heaviest fish in each species and 10 raffled to any fisherman that registered fish from each species. We will once again have a Cash Raffle and this year the prizes will be $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, $150 for 3rd place and $50 each for 4th & 5th place. New this year, a significant portion of the proceeds will go to build a Fisher House home on the Milwaukee Veterans Center Medical Complex. For those unfamiliar with the Fisher House charity, they currently have 54 homes near major veteran’s medical centers or hospitals where veterans and/or their families can stay for free while they are receiving medical help. The Milwaukee VA is yet to have such a home but is in dire need of one since over 600,000 vets from 23 states visit Milwaukee each year for medical help. With that demand the Fisher House of Wisconsin is close to breaking ground on one of the largest Fisher House homes in the United Stated and is expected to help over 1,000 families a year at a time when they really need it. see event page for more information
